Curious McCain-Obama Nature Cover

Nature loves symmetry.  Animals, plants, crystals, (insert random nature thing here) all have a symmetrical structure.  As symmetrical beings ourselves, people fancy symmetry as beautiful.  Models, for example, in magazines and on television often have extremely symmetrical faces. 

Now it seems that the combination of ‘nature’ and ‘people’ have come to a head in the September issue of Nature Magazine, with curiously symmetrical front and back covers.
