Sarah Palin Crosses Decapitation Threshold
Palin enters the nation’s imagery
It was bound to happen sometime. While choo chooing her way onto the national stage, John McCain’s moose killer, er, vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has crossed an important threshold of U.S. politics: The transposed photoshopped head.
Talking Points Memo beat the rest of the media to it.
It happens to all the greats. One day you’re a lawyer, state senator, or governor of a small state minding your own business, and the next day you’re running for higher office with your head attached to a toy train on someone’s website.
Okay, maybe not a train every time, sometimes your head is attached to someone you don’t even know. Or sometimes your head is attached someone’s incredibly grotesque body. Or sometimes even your own body.

Or, alternatively, your politico head could be attached to a beloved cartoon character in an attempt at mockery or symbolism, or another Disney favorite in an attempt to exaggerate your temperament.

Or perhaps your noggin gets gussied up to look like your nemesis. Or perhaps, if you’re very lucky, your national debut on the decapitated-Photoshop stage ends up having you look like Tommy the Train. Choo-choo!

Hey, any publicity is good publicity, right? Welcome to the club, Governor.

Stumble it!

McCain, Maverick? (or) Moron like we have in office now? Well his VP pick was as much as a hail Mary pass as was Bush’s decision to invade the wrong country..Is this kind of fast acting (non thinking) kind of leadership the GOP thrives on? McCain and Bush love to crack funny’s on talk shows..perhaps they should be comedians instead of trying to “act” out leadership roles..AMERICA, my COuntry, deserves better. We deserve a leader who will think throgh policy decisions..If McCains first decision is to choose Palin, a woman who hasn’t thought much about the Iraq WAR, and to place her within a heartbeat of the most important job as an AMERICAN, THEN HE IS NOT READY TO LEAD. McCain’s health is not good enough to make that decision ..and our Country is too important for that roll of the dice.
I agree whole heartedly. I think Mc Cain’s choice of this reactionary, inexperienced, anti-choice, inexperienced person demonstrates a lamentable lack of judgment. As a woman I am insulted at the suggestion that a former Hillary supporter might vote for this right winger just because she is a woman! We are much too discriminating for that!!!
I live in Alaska and can tell you this pick is worse for the country than Dan Quayle. She is over her head running this state. What we have learned in the last week about her here in Alaska has been amazing - there is no real vetting during our campaigns. We new she knew nothing about the budget when she defered all the questions to the LT. Governor but now we are learning about the state has been paying for her children to fly all over the country too. She didn’t want to live in Juneau so she moved back to her hometown and has been collecting funds because she was away from her “duty station” in Juneau.
The country knows about the trooper scandal but there is more……
No one has looked into the outside counsultant’s report of the Office of Children’s services which may have been whitewashed by Palin’s Department of Health and Social Services. The state legislature finally had to force her to trim back her expanding public relations office in DHSS because that was more of a priority than spending federal and state money well. When you are busy traveling to do Vogue photoshoots instead of minding the store these problems flare up. I thought we would never see anyone more narcissistic than Bill Clinton.
