Obama Will Continue Awful Bush Policies
“And we thought he was going to be different…” - El Borak’s Myopia
Progressives have just had a small taste of what supporting Barack Obama has wrought.
AP reports that “Taking a page from President Bush, Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday he wants to expand White House efforts to steer social service dollars to religious groups, risking protests in his own party”…”Obama contended he is merely stating long-held positions — surprising to some, he said, after a primary campaign in which he was ‘tagged as being on the left.’ ”
This is the type of unlawful, unnecessarily compromising action that supporters of Senator Clinton worried about with an Obama win: More of our tax dollars going to organizations that promote a particular religious view. Under an Obama administration, the separation between church and state will be even more laughable than it is now.
As Clinton stated in a February ‘08 debate: “”It did take a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, and I think it might take a second one to clean up after the second Bush.”
While clearly Obama is preferable to John McCain, this is what non-Obama supporters worried about. Obama’s “new type of politics” is going to be extremely compromising with right-wing Republicans, continuing (and now expanding) much of the damage created by the Bush administration. While Clinton’s focus was on undoing the harm of President Bush, helping the middle class, and improving America’s standing around the world, Obama’s primary focus was on bridging the divide between Republicans and Democrats, a laudable-sounding goal, but many of us understood what that really meant: compromising on issues that shouldn’t be compromised.
This isn’t the first sampling of what an Obama administration portends. As reported by the Guardian, “Democratic senators today failed to stop the Bush administration from winning legal immunity for telecom companies that helped the government eavesdrop on Americans.” “Obama voted with 30 fellow Democrats” for a bill that grants immunity to companies that helped the Bush administration illegally spy on Americans.
Obama strongly supports two major Bush policies harmful to American society. What’s next? It’s another sad day for Clinton supporters, the ones who saw this coming all along.

Stumble it!

When we were small children my grandfather told us the story that back in the second world war he was trying to escape, and see that historical man made calamity.
As we grow old, we would be able to say our grandchildren that we were the spectators of the even, the moment when a person rising from the ashes has spread the story of his victory all over, which is commendable.
