Bill Clinton and Barack Obama will talk soon, according to Terry McAuliffe.

(CNN) — Clinton campaign chairman Terry McAuliffe assured CNN’s Candy Crowley that former President Bill Clinton and presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama will be discussing Clinton’s role in the campaign within the next two days.

“I believe that in the next 24 to 48 hours they will talk and off we will go,” McAuliffe stated on Sunday’s Late Edition.

Clinton has remained behind the scenes so far during the general election. He was not present at the Democratic event in Unity, New Hampshire on Friday and has only released a one-sentence statement saying that he will do whatever he can to help the Illinois senator win the election.

Many analysts have said that Clinton’s not-so-subtle absence from the campaign is because he is angry and bitter about his wife losing the nomination.

McAuliffe defended the former president, saying that he has been taking time to let his wife finish up her campaign and secure her relationship with Obama.

“She was the candidate, she got 18 million votes, she’s the political leader of the Clinton family now,” McAuliffe said.

Obama asked to talk to President Clinton on Friday and Hillary Clinton told him, “Absolutely,” according to McAuliffe.

Now that President Clinton is back from a five-nation tour during which he attended Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday party, McAuliffe predicts that they will be speaking shortly—but stressed that the attention should be on Hillary Clinton and Obama coming together.

I hope Terry McAulliffe has no place in Barack's campaign. He acts like there is something wrong with him. His behavior, like he's on medication or maybe needs to be, he definitely needs to get a grip on what is going on. That intro as Hillary the next Pres of U. S. right after Barack had enough votes/delegates & had announced he was the Dem nominee. I never could stand him during the campaign, the way he just blabbed on & on & on about the 18 million Clinton had. All I can say is "get lost Terry". Obama for Pres 08

Hate to break it to you   June 29th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

Great that everyone is getting on board including Bill. And if I get one more person talking about what the Clintons did for the AA. I'm an AA and hate to tell you, but they didn't do anything for me. They didn't pay for me to go to school, and even now I'm going back to further my education and don't see a check from them addressed to me. They didn't help me get a job, pay my mortgage or anything. And no, I didn't grow up on Well Fair, my mother worked 2 even 3 jobs to keep us out of the system, still had our own home and no child support. Anyways, I just want to say if they did so much, shouldn't the AA community be better off? I'll give them credit for the charities and other public services, but don't speak what you don't know. He was cool and great President at the time, but that goes for mostly everybody, not just the AA. And I don't owe the Clintons crap cause they didn't do anything for me. When they send me a check, then I'll start kissing a..! This doesn't in anyway mean I dislike them it's just the AA doesn't owe the Clintons anything. They didn't bring about civil rights, they may have been advocates, but they sure the hell didn't start it. And another thing..Bill skipped out of the country so he didn't have to go to Vietnam and still was a great President, so don't act like Obama wouldn't have good foreign policy. Matter of fact, Bush even had to go back to the the drawing table using the Clintons outfit on Korea.

Dolly   June 29th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

My husband and I will not be voting for Obama. We're not sheep to follow everyone else. We voted for Hillary in the primaries, because we thought she would really try to prove she could get things accomplished. The media and the DNC wanted Obama, We don't

Katz   June 29th, 2008 9:44 pm ET

I think Bill Clinton is just standing aside while Senator Clinton and Senator Obama demonstrate unity. He will be on the scene when the time is appropriate. Go, Hillary! Go, Bill! Go, Barack! We are so blessed to have those three leaders among us.

TRUTH- You are not a true democrat what you are is a bitter person. How are you helping the democratic party. To tell you the truth I am very unimpressed with the way Hillary let the racism of her campaign supporters take over this election. She does not deserve to win. I guess it is okay to be racist but it is absolutely evil to be sexist. In reality both sexism & racism is not acceptable. OBama left his church on behalf of Hillary, he has given up his religion for her. What the hell else do people want from him?? DO you want him to bleach his skin and dye his hair blonde??

Debbie   June 29th, 2008 9:30 pm ET

Bill doesn't NEED to bow down to Obama! He slammed Bill every chance he got and the former PRESIDENT is suppose to let it go! Shame on Obama for not having respect for Bill Clinton!!!!!!!!

The only reason Obama should talk to President Clinton is to apologize for his politcs oh yeah,,,, he said he wasn't a politician! another lie.

Go Hillary and Go McCain

Is there a reason we are supposed to believe Terry McAuliffe, the new star of Fox News? The one who said that Fox News was the most "balanced" network? He hasn't looked straight in at least a month. He didn't even look sober at the all-star funeral. Remember? The one for Russert? After he had said that he would toast Tim Russert's father in heaven? When the man was still and is still living? Remember when he said that Hillary was still going straight to the White House? In June?

Gary Chandler in Canada   June 29th, 2008 9:29 pm ET

Rate the importance of campaigning for Obama on a scale of 1 to 10.
Hillary 8.5?

What is wrong with Bill Clinton, he had such a good reputation as the "peace and Prosperity" president, now he has been reduced to a old crazy man. ANd Terry McAu—- whatever his name, is such a political HACK !!!!!! I really find him annoying, loudmouthed, liar and he has no integrity. Go away Terry!!

In the end, poor Bill has to tow the old party line. But I don't have to — I will gladly, wholeheartedly, and with immense peace of mind — vote for John McCain. Because Obama, quite simply, is a bunch of NOTHINGNESS!

Big surprise. It's not an option. Mr. McAuliffe is a fantastic cheerleader for the party.

After reading the books, "the final days" and "Hell to Pay", many of us wouldn't be so kind & giddy about the Clintons. These people are nothing but demons and have a problem with correction. Read the book folks, then you stop making a God out of those Clintons.

Let Obam actually win the nomination, then worry about who is where.
The press as usually , makes too much out of every move.

sparkos   June 29th, 2008 9:16 pm ET

Why does this fool Obama need all this Clinton help to get elected. It is disgusting. He should be able to run his own campaign, take a stand on an issue and mean it and be his own man…every day he appears to need the Clintons more to tell him what to do…By his own admission in Unity N.H. he said "he needs them to win"…how incredulous is that! I have been a democrat for 40 years and never seen anything like this…it is truly disappointing. I will be reregistering Independent Monday as this candidate is unqualified and too weak. Maybe for the City dog catcher, but not the President of the United States. Bill Clinton was a great president.

Nadine   June 29th, 2008 9:15 pm ET

Personally, if Bill & Hillary Clinton that darn angry that there will be no Clinton's in the white house, both of them need to get off the stage and stay off. No other presidential candidate has or had to endure the mess what Sen Obama is going through. It don't matter what measure of "experience" or length of politics, the people has voted. The Clintons don't own this nation, nor this earth. And if their ugliness by them and their supporters continues, remember this, What goes around, will come around. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander! Judgement is mine, saith the lord, "I will do the repaying".

The suspense thickens — yeah, really! Bill Clinton was a great president, and he was brutally bashed by the ultra liberal media. Now, of course, as a "good Democrat," he has to pay "lip service" to his party. We understand, but we still don't buy into the corrupt DNC.

Now we vote for John McCain — NOT bought by a corrupt party! A genuine American hero and EXPERIENCED legislator and leader!

Lisa   June 29th, 2008 9:11 pm ET

Hillary should have won the nomination.

Margaret   June 29th, 2008 9:08 pm ET

President Clinton needs to get over the fact that Hillary lost the nomination and stop claiming that Senator Obama used the race card or that he disrespected Senator Clinton. It was President Clinton that made many mistatements and lost his temper. Now is the time to show that he is a great statesman and not a sore loser and help save this country from 4 more years of Bush policies.

We all knew that it was going to happen - it was only just a matter of time. The Clintons did not get as far as they have gotten by not being politically smart. They are going to do everything they can to get Senator Obama elected because they know that everyone is watching and watching closely.

I look forward to watching Bill take his own advice.

Maggie   June 29th, 2008 8:47 pm ET

Bill Clinton should tell Obama to go to hell. After Obama and his people criticized him and more or less called him a racist, why would they want his help to get him elected. I hope Obama realizes that because he was unfairly selected and not elected as the nominee, that he will not have that same priviledge in the November presidential race. When he loses that race, I hope that will teach the DNC and superdelegates a lesson that they should have not selected the weaker candidate but taken the decision of the voters who had voted for Clinton as she had the most votes.

I would like to know what has happened to fair democracy. This democratic race reminds me of the Zimbabwe elections where democracy was flushed down the toilet and the voters did not count. Obama was forced onto the democrat supporters and I hope McCain is the winner just to teach them a lesson.

Ben   June 29th, 2008 8:45 pm ET

I'm sure you rich people all get united behind McSame to preserve wealth you already have. I don't blame it to you people at all. However, one thing that I want to remind you is that you are on the wrong side in God's eye.

People will not be fooled this time around. Especially, those Evangelicals who really care about God's message, will not vote for one will destroy world peace.

Every time average Americans see BC they will think of how he sullied the Presidency with a 21 year old Intern, and then ruined Hillary's campaign!!!

Eugene   June 29th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

President Bill Clinton will do whatever he can to election a Democrat, because he is a Democrat and not because he likes Obama or thinks Obama is qualified. Read some of these comments and if these Clinton haters are Obama supporters he has a sorry bunch and I doubt that he can win in November.

Go away Billary   June 29th, 2008 8:44 pm ET

Bill is angry and bitter about losing, so what? Hillary somehow demands respect for losing a fair contest, so what?? Obama owes them nothing, and should stop sucking up to them as though he does.

The Clintons are the egomaniacs, liars, mean and nasty competitors, and Hillary is a disastrous manager that has screwed up her own campaign budget. Thankfully she won't get a chance at the national budget.

Barack should politely distance himself now. They've gotten his gracious thanks and his max donation of $2300. Billary should go home.

Let me say first that I am proud to be a card carrying Clinton Democrat. I am proud to have a picture of Pres. Clinton hanging next to MLK, JFK and Malcolm X in my living room. Now its time for all Democrats to rally together behind Barack Obama and defeat McBush. The republicans are going to pull every dirty trick imaginable to defeat Obama so every vote is going to count. We cannot afford another Supreme Court Judge nominated by a republican administration. Oh by the way let me be the first to circulate the idea of Hillary Clinton as the next Attorney General in a Obama administration. I bet then Bush's lackey's will quickly develope a respect for the law. Go Obama!

ree not for obama   June 29th, 2008 8:37 pm ET

Why don't you leave Bill Clinton and Sen. Clinton alone. They are much better then the Obama's . Never heard the Obama's say they would help Sen. Clinton if she was the candidate. We all know the only reason the DNC jumped on his bandwagon was because of the money.

I have taken my name off their email list. No way am I going to send them money I need for gas and food.

Remember they have been in control for two years and what have they done. Don't think with them in control that everything will be back to the way it was.

Think before you vote.

Educator in CT. To begin with Pres. Clinton is not demanding anything for Obama Sen. Clinton is asking for his help which is what Obama would have done if he had lost. Second the Clintons DID NOT damage the DNC, the DNC did that all on it's ownby not defending Sen. Clinton was being the blunt of all those sexists remarks. You had better believe if racists remarks had been made in the news like they made sexists remarks against Sen. Clinton ther would have been HELLto pay. So please get your facts straight, because of people like you with remarks like yours, it will be very easy for Clinton supporters to go to MCCAIN in Nov. If the country could got back to when Bill Clinton was president I would vote for him over and over again. Those who say he needs to go away couldn't possibly be a democrat, because his policies embodied all that democrats stand for. His eight years were economically fantastic and the world looked to us instead of away from us. If he decides to support Obama, then of course Obama should be greatful, especially since he tore him apart with racial inuendos, that honestly are so against the Clinton grain I was shocked they stuck…. Bill has always been for the less fortunate and made a point to always push for equality.

Obama could use his example of how to be a great president for the USA.

Former President Clinton ..

No one can take away the progress the country made during your 8 years in office. History will judge you well by that score.

The issue with Monica will be a foot note. I along with most other American's believe the impeachment proceedings were a shameful and political use of a process.

Sir, your legacy will be bolstered and Hillary's place within the party will be bolstered by a Barack Obama win, provided you are seen as a saavy, "elder" statesman that lent his political intellegence to the next Democratic president.

For yourself, for your wife, but also for your country, you've got to shed any bitterness from the primary and bring your "A" game.

We'll be looking for you selectively on the campaign trail with Obama and to your gracious speech at the Convention about crossing the 2000 to 2008 Abyss

I hope President Clinton tells the presumptous presidential nominee to "take a flying leap." Having one Clinton "making nice" to Obama is MORE than enough. If it weren't for President Clinton, Barack Obama wouldn't be where he is today. The Clintons have done more for the AA community than any president since Abraham Lincoln. So I think BHO and MO are the once who should be making nice not WJC and HRC.

Some people need to come off that cheap talking point. I am African American and can tell you this - Bill Clinton did nothing for me or any other black person that I know. He was a decent Pesident and he cared for the poor and downtrotten, some of whom happened to be black, BUT he also helped poor whites, Hispanics, etc… He was a President who tried to do what was right when it came to social issues, but that does not mean that an entire race of people should kneel at his feet and blindly follow. That is ridiculous. Barack Obama or any other black person in this country owe the Clinton's NOTHING! Furthermore the most wonderful President as far as many blacks are concerned was Kennedy, not Lincoln, just so you can be in the know.

Anyone who analyzes this thing should recognize this…
Senator Obama has every reason to win this race, although it may be closer than any of us who support him may think.

Senator Clinton knows that if she doesn't "appear" to be 100% behind Obama, her time on the national stage is likely over as many Dems will see this as the time to take back the White House and she didn't help do that.

Likewise, President Clinton knows his legacy parallels what happens with Obama this year and then with his wife in 2016. If 2008 doesn't happen, 2016 likely doesn't happen either and he'll be remembered as a President who presided over good times but could not get his VP elected, his wife elected or even a strong Dem in a Dem leaning year elected to POTUS.

So, both of them, once they get over their emotions will allow logic to once again direct them, which is what has made them so successful.

I'm betting on logic to rule the day in the Clinto household.

Who cares! Obama would do well to leave Clinton out of the election!

DAISY FROM NY   June 29th, 2008 8:09 pm ET

the sad news about next coming election day is that is on November 5, close to my birthdate which means I am going to be one year less young.

Koral   June 29th, 2008 8:07 pm ET

This was not unexpected at all. Hillary and Bill Clinton will both work hard for Obama to be elected. It was always going to be that way. Yes, there are strange issues with Bill Clinton. But there's never been any question that both he and his wife love this country and have given the greater part of their lives to public service.

Now, I hope Obama will come through. So far the "candidate of change" part has been a little off the mark. He'll win by moving to the center, to be sure, but I hope he gets back on the left side after the election. Bottom line is - the Democrats must win.

Jeremy   June 29th, 2008 8:06 pm ET

Bill Clinton has been an icon in the democratic party. He is a true leader who is respected by a majority of democratic party members and independents. Obama needs Bill Clinton to help show that Obama is capable of running the nation. Face it, Obama needs the Clintons more then the Clintons need Obama. Win or loose the Clintons have claimed their spot in history as amazing democratic leaders who lead a nation and multiple states to peace and prosperity. Obama is yet to write his chapter in history. I'd rather look back at the Clinton successes then all the other democratic failures in recent history. How many democrats were in the Ova Office during your lifetime??

I voted for Bill twice but I would never vote for a Clinton again. Please Mr. Obama, I know you have to be nice to him but DO NOT TRUST HIM and don't give him or Hillary any real power. I have confidence that Obama knows exactly what kind of people the Clintons are–and they're not nice.

DAN   June 29th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

President Clinton should not hang around with a race baiting crook who received favors from Rezko in exchange for government subsidies where people lived in hell because of the neglection of the buldings. Just recently a fence from one of those buildings fell and killed a 4 yearold boy. Hopefully Fitzgerald will investigate the dealings between slumlord Rezko and crook politician Obama.

Why does Senator Obama have to pick up the pieces of the Clinton's ?
In the eyes of many, the Clinton's negative campaign tatics poll numbers are nosebleed high. Obama is doing all the work to bring unity to the dem. party. Yet the media wants to give 98% of the credit to the Clinton's ….go figure.

RSB   June 29th, 2008 8:05 pm ET

I wish Hillary and Bill would talk and she could explain how he helped her lose. He was a good president but that was then and this is now. I guess we'll see what a team player he is. Someone should tell him he's not in control and his arrogance is showing.

"You know, this election is about trust, and trusting people's word, and unfortunately apparently on several items, Sen. Obama's word cannot be trusted," McCain said in Louisville, Kentucky.

I, also don't trust Obama. i am afraid of his liberal record and his proposed tax increases to fund the welfare queens. He just can't be trusted with the greatest nation on earth.

Please join John S McCain during this campaign year and help elect him as our 44th President. He will bring security and experience to the table, while defending America, your values and your wallet.

Blindly vote for Obama. Go ahead, do it.

Then, when his health plan kicks in and you have to answer to the government to justify your childrens' well being, you'll wonder what you saw in him.

Please ask the tough questions before blindly following him. Ask him about his plan to fine parents if they don't buy into his health plan.

Just ask. If you're okay with that, then go ahead and vote for him. But you should at least know what you're voting for.

He won't be ending the war in Iraq. He may say he wants to, but he won't have the power as President. So, if you're voting for him because you want to end the war, you're not going to get it in the next four years.

This November, for the first time, McCain’s name will appear on a national ballot. While Arizona residents know a lot about McCain’s political history, the nation, as a whole, knows relatively little. His national image is largely a fantasy created by his public relations machine.

It is time now that the nation learns the facts about McCain. What better place to begin than in his home state with his fellow Republicans?

Wouldn't it make it easier for Hillary's fundraisers to raise money for Obama if they don't have to worry about paying off that debt? It will help Obama raise more money and enable Hillary to campaign more for him if he helps her pay off that debt.

Obama/Bill Clinton 2008

A nightingale Sings in Berkley Square   June 29th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Don't go Bill. After all he not only dissed you but he dissed Hillary time after time. He smoted her on the cheek and did the same on the other cheek.

The problem with those idiots that support Obama and others of the same ilk, is that they never ask the question what would happen if we departed Iraq?

We need a public discussion on what may happen, if we leave Iraq, covering all the advantages and disadvantages.

If we would have had this, maybe bush and the neo's wouldn't have invaded. But we are there and we need a national discourse with some of our bright people.

Colin Powell said it's like the guy in the china closet dropping a cup. If you break it, you buy it.

So let's get Powell, some others and Shinsecki and try to find an intelligent, honorable way out of this mess. I think McCain can do that and I don't think the empty suit can.

Please, No Obama   June 29th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Why is Bill sullying his reputation by talking to this piece of trash called Obama? BHO shamelessly attacked the Clinton glory years during the primary and had the audacity to doubt the Clinton trade manifesto which brought prosperity and millions of jobs to the US while strengthening our trade partners. Now, Obama says he might have exaggerated. Obama is a sham, an idiot and a disgrace. Stay away from him, Bill. He is not worthy of your attention.

Larry, Apex, North Carolina   June 29th, 2008 7:54 pm ET

Bill Clinton was the "Second Worst President Ever."

But despite that I really feel sorry for the way Obama and his Obamanazi followers treated Hillary and the Clintons. It was/is down right sexism.

I hope Bill Clinton stays away from Senator Hussein. His legacy will not be improved.

Clinton, no, wait, McCain Supporter   June 29th, 2008 7:53 pm ET

Chelsea Clinton won't give BO the time of day! She's back at her job and wouldn't be caught dead anywhere near him. She's the only Clinton who has that luxury.

And what Carville does regarding Richardson is totally irrelevant. Terry McAuliffe is a close friend of the Clintons, and he'll do what he's asked to do. But none of this will make Obama a better president, and I, one of oh-so-many, will vote for McCain, and if Obama wins, I hope he screws it up royally!! I can wait 4 more years. The DNC picked him and made it happen. I don't reward jackals with my vote. And I don't reward sexists and racists either. So McCain 08 it is. Here's hoping if it's BO, he is the biggest Democrat loser in 100+ years.

Looks like Greedy Tot Obama doesn't know much about economics either, although he is too arrogant to admit such a thing. This week he's been telling his adoring public about ways he will spend the money now spent in Iraq on domestic needs.

He doesn't seem to understand that the money spent in Iraq is BORROWED FROM CHINA. If we're not borrowing for Iraq, we will be paying it back, NOT spending more on domestic programs. Unless, of course, he is a) lying to make points, a distinct possibility; or b) plans to continue spending like there's no tomorrow, something I could believe as easily as a. Maybe Bill can take this fool aside and fill him in. Or Hillary can handle it, or he can hire Hillary's team to help him out. He better do something, though, because he's looking really DUMB!

William Courtland Waterford, ON   June 29th, 2008 7:44 pm ET

The parties…

How many people are shut out of business with the administrated leadership for not holding membership with a political party? Why just this one former president, and why does another side need to informally disclude this one.

I live on a sphere, does it not make more sense to list my address as polar x-y co-ordinates.

If a mean center of every property was taken, my address, along with everyone elses would always be a uniform 21 mostly numeric characters.

It amazes me when one of you "Clinton Supporters" cry about bad treatment. Did you forget the kitchen sink strategy? Your candidate lost fair and square. Now get over it and quit crying about it.

GT/FL Obama doesn't have to make nice to anyone. He won she lost. If Hillary ever wants a future in the party. She and Bill have to make nice, not the other way around.

D.R.   June 29th, 2008 7:41 pm ET

That is wonderful!
If he helps Obama half as much as he helped Hillary we shall see President McCain take office in January '09.

Wake up America, do you honestly believe that after such a heavily contested battle for the democratic nomination, they are united? Hillary wants her debt paid off and Obama needs all those 18 million votes that she accumulated.

Let us not forget that Hillary won the popular vote and all the big states but is not the nominee, is that democracy? We used the same argument to say that Gore won the popular vote and should have been President, yet we 'Flip Flop' and do not apply the same to Hillary's Popular Vote dominance.
Huh?

She should run as an independent since I cannot take anymore of this old Washington politics of 'FLIP FLOPPING' that Sen. Obama has now mastered.

Their campaign debt is their responsibility not mine or others like me, My donations are meant for the Obama campaign not the Clinton debt.

Theresa   June 29th, 2008 7:39 pm ET

The comments here that are disparaging Bill and Hillary Clinton are similar to hundreds I have read in Washington Post and other sources. They are either misinformed by the biased news media or the writer imagines what one of the Clintons has done or will do and then disparages the "culprit" for the imagined offense. In spite of the fact that Obama was highly unappreciative of President Clinton's accomplishments during his two administrations and lumped his presidency with Bush in calling for change, President Clinton has already said he will do everything he can to help elect Obama and he and Hillary have each donated $2,500 (the limit allowed) to Obama's campaign, just as Obama gave $2,500 to pay off Hillary's campaign debts. She has made it clear she is not looking for any repayment for the millions she loaned the campaign. Katie Couric was entirely correct in her comment about how extremely biased the news coverage of Hillary Clinton was against her.

Westexacan   June 29th, 2008 7:39 pm ET

Bill was a great president, good economy, no major wars, was respected by other countries. He could negotiate. His best role will to kinda stay in the background but clobber the Republicans when they come out with their attack dogs. I would love to see Bill Clinton and George W. Bush debate.

I don't understand all the whining about paying Hillary Clinton's debt. This is business as usual in elections in this country, and here's why: if potential candidates had to face the probability of losing an election and being saddled with monumental debt and no elected position, many, if not most, candidates would not become candidates at all.

The willingness to pay the losing candidate's debt is key to providing the voters a choice of candidates. It also guarantees that people other than the wealthiest members of each party will be willing to run for office in the US. It is critical to the election process, and we should applaud it and expect it and insist on it if it is not done willingly.

Why is Barack Obama asking Hillary if he can speak to Bill? Have the Clintons taken complete control of this election? When will it end? All this pomp and circumstance, special consideration, stipulation, negotiation, symbolic gesture, coddling – when the Clintons were the ones who deliberately drove the wedge that divided the Democratic Party and got us into such a difficult mess. We should have seen this one coming years ago when we weren’t given the decency of a straight answer from President Clinton – while he was under oath. WE were not respected by the Clintons then, and we aren’t now.

No bill and no Terry. Bill should just go about being Bill. I think they are treating Obama unfairly on this one. If I was Obama's campaign, I would feed Terry, Bill and Hillary out of a long handle spoon. And to make sure that it is very clear that Terry nor the Clintons speak for his campaign.

The Clintons are playing a game and as soon as her debt is paid off. I believe the Obama Campaign, will tell them exactly where to go!

This used car salesman has been a prooven liar. Obama can do better without this sleaze. Everytime the name Clinton is dragged out, it costs obama votes in the general election. The Clintons are making sure Obama to loose to prove her right about his electability. She needs to be right, will do anything at any price to prove she is right at the expense of the Party. Dump her name right now!

These white wine sipping liberals don't realize that Bill Clinton is the only dem in long time who gave them taste of white house not only once but twice. Otherwise they have long list of loosers such as Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, Kerry. Sen. Obama will be joining this list if he doesn't choose Hillary as his VP. Why Obama is sucking up to Clintons now because he knows they are the only one in Dem party to win not only once but twice. So Obama cult members shut up & focus on McCains and do not write him off. He will be your worst nightmare if Dems are not united. Go Obama/Clinton 2008.

Bill Clinton was one of the better Presidents of all time. The country was in great shape with Bill at the helm. Obama will need Bill Clintons expertize in dealing with the underhanded Replubicans. And for those former Hillary Clinton backers that now say they will vote for John McCain, They are putting their personal feelings in front of what is in the best interest of the country. Or, are they just racist individuals that refuse to vote for a black man ?

k knowles   June 29th, 2008 7:01 pm ET

More sexism from the pig, trying soo hard to suck up to Bill. Hillary is the person that OBAMA needs to be sucking up to. She is the star. We all know she was running the White House anyway, back when Bill was President. So-until she gets her old room back, I'm Voting for MCCAIN to keep her bed warm.

Jimenez   June 29th, 2008 7:00 pm ET

President Clinton doesn't need to help Obama. I hope he wont. Another friend just confirmed what is happening with alot of democrats. Both her parents and herself are not voting this year. They refuse to vote for Obama. Shame Obama now trying to get Bill Clinton to help him after he accused both Clintons of being racists. Don't do it President Clinton.

I'm still not quite sure why people follow the fools like the Grahams. To each his own I suppose. Religion to them has become a business. Perhaps they should have taken the money that they scammed from their "believers" to buy that nice house in NC and spend iit on people who really need it. McCain gave them a visit strictly for the evangelical vote. They even "diised" him by no endorsement.. He has no clue just how obvious he is with his political BS is. McCain for president, I sure hope not !!

J Stone   June 29th, 2008 6:58 pm ET

Why on Earth does Obama need to "sit down" with Clinton?? Give me a break! He beat both the Clintons with everything including the kitchen sink thrown at him. Now Obama is even offering to get them out of debt due to incompetant mismanagement on Hillarys part - Bill is still ungrateful.

Lets face it, the Clintons heve never helped the Democrat party - only themselves. Wherever they go the bring bad luck to the Dem party.

Obama and Clinton would make a Great Dream Team! Super Ticket! A force to reckon' with!

kelly   June 29th, 2008 6:57 pm ET

What on earth does this washed up has- been bring to the table? Reminders of his decayed so-called leadership, fooling around with anyone with standards low enough to consort with him, and a harpy wife who cannot face the fact that the Clintons are sooooo OVER. Barack is really tainting his image by running with them. I know the intent is to try to pull in some of the Hillary feminists, but the bottom line is, that is a high price to pay. They can't vote for her in the election anyway, so get over it and move on.

THE TRUTH shalt set YOU Free!!!!!   June 29th, 2008 6:57 pm ET

Dee Dee …………Question- Where is Terry Mc Aulliffe going to fit in this election ? Obama has a laid back campaign not always in the cups like in Senator Hiillary's where he drank with Mika and Joe on Morning Joe?
He seems more out of control than President Clinton. Had he not introduced Senator Hillary as the next President after Senator Barack Obama had enough to declare the nomination. He might need some Ritalin to fit into this campaign. Senator Barack needs Chelsa more than Terry…………..YOU are SOOOO RIGHT ………BILL should ter Watch TERRy!!

FayeinCT   June 29th, 2008 6:53 pm ET

Hillary knows she has to play nice right now. Bill does not owe the DNC or Obama anything. Bill can do what he wants.
Obama needs Hillary and Hillary needs Obama. It sucks but it is true.
The DNC needs a HUGE overhaul.

Obama '08!!!

Belle2   June 29th, 2008 6:48 pm ET

After the way Obama and his fans treated the Clintons, they should leave him alone and let him win or lose on his own.

Kirk in upstate New York   June 29th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

They need to clean up their reputation if Chelsea is ever going to be elected President!

Maybe Obama can have Bill sell cigars at the Dem convention.

Heather   June 29th, 2008 6:47 pm ET

I do think this is amusing really. McCain was attacked by the left because they said all he knows is military; being from a military family.

Suddenly, military experience is a reason to not elect someone as President? This attack is coming from the party whose 2004 Nominee saluted and said he was reporting for duty?

Truly amusing!

Joint Ticket,

Your comment reminded me, that there was something I have been meaning to Post. (no, noooo, noooooo bashing)

I have heard in one way or another, about how wonderful everything was when Bill was President. I don't doubt that, but what I fail to understand is this.

When Bill was elected President the first go around, he was also "inexperienced" But he inherited a much better America, than the one Barack is running for today, there is absolutely no comparison of the America of those long gone days, and the MESS that Barack has facing him today!

There WAS NO IRAQ WAR; there WAS NO MILLIONS OF FORECLUSURES; there WAS NO DROWNING ECONOMY; there WAS THE HEALTH CARE ISSUE, but HEALTH CARE WAS NOT RESOLVED, it is still there, NAFTA WAS SIGNED AND SEALED, and that folks is why, AMERICA HAS LOST MILLIONS OF JOBS. Please remember I am NOT BASHING I am just telling it as it is! whoever is voted in to the White House will have a completely different AMERICA TO DEAL WITH, and frankly, I don't envy him.

So folks you can see why I wanted to post this comment.

I REALLY HOPE THAT BARACK WINS, but you folks have got to be prepared, to give him just a little time to do all the things you are asking of him!

GOOD LUCK

Each coin has at least two sides. When Bill campaigned for his wife, he it for the Democratic ticket.

He'll do it again for Senator Obama because at the end of the day, it is one party and their vi
