Huckabee’s New Ad: You Can’t Out-Christian Me

Symbolism never looked so obvious

Nice floating cross. Republican presidential front runner Mike Huckabee has a new ad out just before Christmas dripping with Jesus ooze.

Huckabee Christmas ad

“Are you about worn out from all the television commercials you’ve been seeing, mostly about politics? I don’t blame you. At this time of year sometimes it’s nice to pull aside from all of that and just remember that what really matters is the celebration of the birth of Christ and being with our family and our friends. I hope that you and your family will have a magnificent Christmas season. On behalf of all of us, God bless and merry Christmas. I’m Mike Huckabee and I approve this message.”

His nice-guy theme continues to shroud his Stone Age stances on policy.

For those who do not subscribe to the religiosity of Christmas or happen celebrate Hanukkah or Eid ul-Adha, here is a translation:

“I hope you’re not too worn out from all the television commercials you’ve been seeing from my rival candidates to absorb this one. I hope not but I really couldn’t blame you. This time of year is particularly suited for my ‘Christian-leader‘ message and it’s nice to create a political ad that plays to my strong points. If you believe in the holiness of Jesus Christ, love your family and like your friends you should vote for me. This ad connects me to the Christmas season. Huckabee loves Christmas. Huckabee loves God. Exegesis: If you love Christmas and God you love Huckabee. Remember my name, Mike Huckabee. I approve this message.”

As noted earlier in Comedy on the Campaign Trail, a Huckabee presidency would be an absolute nightmare. Merry Christmas to you and your family too Mr. Huckabee. Now go away, go far, far away.
