Thanks Jimmy,

I think Matthews and Stewart are both good men and certainly show the diversity of Democratic opinion. Matthews not bringing up or complaining about the "worst interview" also shows he has real class.

Matthews also seems able to bridge the respect divide between Democrats and Republicans, appreciating those on the other side of the aisle even while strongly disagreeing with them.

If only we all could do the same.

Good piece. The first one I read that wasn't biased towards Stewart. Ultimately, I think Jon is going to live to regret this. Matthews used this epigraph from Bobby to open a chapter:

"Forgive your enemies--but never forget their names."

Matthews is a good man and was ambushed. It's been a month now and his yet to comment on it (as far as I can tell). Matthews speaks to a different section of America. I guess liberals can't stand the fact that he gives guys like Pat Buchanan air time. The Left-Wing is getting as crazy as the Right-Wing was 8 years ago

“with an overtly cynical Jon Stewart”

In the words of the DC celebrity fawning shill, "HA!"

The castrated and administration enabling caricature of journalism that calls itself the media could learn much from Jon Stewart, who as a comedian presents more of a challenge to the bromide selling status quo enablers aptly personified by the pathetic figure of Mathews.

Stewart rightly, efficiently and in a short period lays bare the ugly premise of Mathew’s book, who Mathews himself likens to a better version of “The Prince” by Machiavelli. Without even addressing this arrogant claim, the mere idea that any of the-ends-justify-the-means tenets of Machiavelli as a viable philosophy to lead ones life is, as Jon calls it, a sad statement by a sad hollow man. And as satisfying it is to see someone expose this charlatans, it is sad to think that it is being done by someone who is just playing the role while the actual “journalists” are nothing more than neutered stenographers.

Katherine,

Thank you for taking the time to comment.

The advertisements on this site are automatically generated by google software - currently an ad for Barack Obama is being shown.

Please read almost any other post on this website to discern the website's political platform.

Or you could look at the 'about' section.

Or you could read the website's tagline.

Or you could look at the website's logo that has a Democratic donkey as the main feature.

Or you could make quick assumptions and move on.

Good luck!

Are you kidding me...Stewart had him for lunch. Matthews who is bombastic without measure, had his taste of the other side. Stewart was right, this book was already written - it's called The Prince.

I mean talk about cynical, live your life as if it were a political campaign...that would be hell.

Not shocking that you have that traitor Ann Coulter as an advertiser on your site.
