GOP attracts supporters with guns & animals

Not to be upstaged by New Hampshire Republican’s use of machine guns to attract a crowd, Newt Gingrich is attempting to lure Ames Straw Poll attendees to a policy discussion with animals.

Some bring bbq, Newt brings the zoo.

According to Politico blogger Jonathan Martin, Gingrich is facilitating six policy workshops and co-hosting one on “Green Conservatism”, in which the “former speaker will have in tow a baby American alligator, a hedgehog tenrec, a barred owl, a leopard gecko and a bunny.”

What, no newts?
