Politico slide show of Republican hypocrisy
Dubbing themselves the Moral Majority in 1979, Conservative Republicans and Christian political action committees have long asserted their political views coincide with the Christian concept of moral law.
Republican Senator David Vitter made headlines when he recently apologized for using an “escort service”, stating in an email to AP:
“This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible”… “Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling.”
This is particularly hypocritical as Vitter lambasted President Clinton during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
