How Republicans Think (and why others have to die for it)

“You can’t end a war”
Republicans are abusive to logic.
The basic premise of this man’s argument is that you can’t simply end a war, you have to win it or you choose to lose it.
What a deadly premise.
In the video (Jimbo) states:
“You can’t end a war, you either win it or you lose it”…”wars are won or lost, and the cost associated with that in the lives of our troops makes it a very vital distinction.”
Also:
“We’re trying to end it to, we just want to win”
Holding on to a quixotic notion of victory to save face is unbelievably irresponsible, causing more people to lose limbs, lose family members, and be killed to protect others’ egos. Wars are not that simple, you don’t just win or lose, and anyone holding out for a categorical victory will never be satisfied.
There are extreme differences between how Republican hardliners view the war and how the majority of others do.
The speaker is right about one thing though, the “cost associated with that (difference) in the lives of our troops makes it a very vital distinction.”
It is indeed.
He wants to win the war at any cost, while the thoughtful want to ensure our goals are accomplished in a way that stands up to our country’s principles.
If the next President agrees with Jimbo here, expect the wars in Iraq and beyond to last at least four more years.

Stumble it!

ROFL! Is it me or does “jimbo” seem like the kinda guy that should have starved to death, having not wit enough to put spoon to mouth?
I’ll bet he lives in the “heartland.”
Know why they call it the heartland?
‘Cause the brain ain’t THERE!
The scientifically impossible I do right away
The spiritually miraculous takes a bit longer
We should never have been in Iraq in the first place. But we are there. The time for placing blame and pointing fingers is long past. Victory is the only goal we, as a Nation should be concerned with.
You say “the thoughtful want to ensure goals are met in a way that stands up to our country’s principles” Hot flash for you. Those principles were torn up and thrown in the trash the day Congress (Republican, Democrat, Liberal Conservative…no difference) voted to violate their duties under the Constitution and gave one man the authority to take us to war. These principles are spat on every day, every time some Senator or Congressman starts trashing the president and blaming everything on him. Especially those who voted yes to this war. If you were really so concerned with principles, you would be leading the charge to get rid of every member who did vote yes.
So please tell me oh principled one. Just what do you consider to be ‘victory’, or as you put it, what ‘goals’ need be achieved?

Tell me please, what is or are the other alterative(s)? If I were a teacher, I’d give you an “F” for an incomplete idea. Thats the problem. If you left wingers would actually come up with a plausable idea instead of just saying we were getting it wrong. Pulling out is not an option. Remember nam? After we pulled out millions of people died. But until you guys have a plausable idea, I would suggest that you guys need to stick your head in a hole.
If you aren’t aware of the ideas for Iraq offered by the Democratic party, you haven’t been paying attention.
Making a bad decision and sticking with it is stupidity layered upon stupidity. Sometimes there aren’t perfect solutions, but you have to stop the bleeding, literally and figuratively.
The longer we stay, the worse it will be, for everyone.
