“Mom” is Republican Presidential Candidate’s Top Endorsement
Smith touts his mother’s love as his highest endorsement
As a former Russian linguist, presidential candidate Michael C. Smith (R-Ore.) knows how to speak another language. He also knows the language of love.
Singularly topping the endorsements section of his Smith for U.S. President 2008 website, Smith touts his mother’s love has his highest endorsement:
“Love you no matter what” – Mom
Frustrated by eminent members of the Republican Party veering to the extreme political and religious right, candidate Smith is running as a moderate, hoping his business, military, and middle class experience will help him win the Oregon primary.
According to his website, Smith was born in Illinois in 1961 (to a loving mother), attending Catholic school and the University of Illinois before enlisting in the Air Force. He has served as an electronic warfare specialist, a Russian linguist, an employee for Norfolk Southern Railway, the US postal Service, and currently works for Hewlett Packard.
Candidate Smith also plays the tuba and “would like to go fishing if he had more time”.
Having served our country overseas, Smith deemed it important to add the following to his 2008 presidential website concerning his time in Ireland:
The cultural differences were frequently comic – a school carnival had a bottle of whiskey as a raffle prize, and the teachers frequently use the “F” word in conversation to the students. (“Look at these test scores; you’re all so ‘f***ing’ stupid.”) We did have some great times, and the kids look back on it now as a fun adventure.
Adding to his business, military, and Irish school teacher experiences, Republican presidential candidate Michael C. Smith hopes to ride his mother’s love all the way to the White House.

11/11/07 UPDATE: It appears as if Smith has thrown in the towel. Besides his homepage, other links to his website are now redirected to Ron Paul. Sometimes a mother’s love just isn’t enough.
